New CMS Updates: Check Your 2025 APM Participation and QP Status Now

CMS has released the first snapshot of 2025 APM (Alternative Payment Model) data through the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Participation Status Tool. This update includes Qualifying APM Participant (QP) status and MIPS APM participation status based on Medicare Part B claims from January 1 to March 31, 2025.

If you’re participating in an APM, now’s the time to log into the QPP portal and check your status using your 10-digit NPI number. It’s essential to verify that your participation data is accurate—if anything appears incorrect, please contact the QPP help desk at QPP@cms.hhs.gov.

What Does QP Status Mean?

If you qualify as a QP, you can benefit from:

  • A 1.88% APM incentive bonus
  • Access to APM-specific rewards
  • Exemption from MIPS reporting requirements

APM Incentive Payments for 2025

CMS has also released information on 2025 APM incentive payments, based on 2023 performance. These payments have already been issued to eligible clinicians, but some may require action. If you haven’t received a payment, you should:

  1. Check the 2025 QP Notice to see if you’re listed.
  2. Verify your Medicare billing info by September 1, 2025, if required.

You can view payment details by logging into the QPP site with your HARP credentials.

DAC Preview Period Reopened

The 2023 Doctors and Clinicians (DAC) Preview Period has reopened and will run through August 21, 2025. This gives clinicians a chance to review and verify their QPP performance data before it goes public on Medicare.gov’s compare tool.

Even if you reviewed your info earlier this year, CMS has made updates, so it’s worth checking again.
