An Alabama Hospital Recognized on Becker’s 2025 “Great Hospitals in America” List

Becker’s Hospital Review has released its 2025 “Great Hospitals in America” list, recognizing hospitals nationwide for exceptional clinical performance, patient safety, and a strong commitment to innovation, research, and education. These organizations have also earned distinction from leading rankings and accreditation bodies such as U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CMS, and The Leapfrog Group.

UAB Hospital in Birmingham was the only hospital in Alabama to make the 2025 list, highlighting the state’s representation among the nation’s top-performing healthcare institutions. The 1,207-bed academic medical center has been ranked Alabama’s top hospital for 12 consecutive years and is nationally recognized for high-acuity programs in cardiology, neurology, rehabilitation, surgery, and women’s health. UAB is also one of the country’s most active transplant centers and a leader in emergency care, robotic surgery, and advanced stroke and heart attack treatment.

The recognition reflects UAB Hospital’s continued investment in innovation and access to care, including expanded telehealth services, major facility upgrades, systemwide technology enhancements, and the upcoming UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion—further reinforcing its role as a regional and national leader in complex, specialized care.
