The Alabama Medicaid Agency has updated its Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) periodicity schedule for services provided on or after Oct. 1, 2025. The changes align with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Bright Futures guidelines and add well-child visits at 3–5 days of age and 30 months, along with hearing, vision, and developmental screenings.
The updated schedule includes visits at 3–5 days, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 months, followed by annual visits for recipients ages 3–20, beginning with the child’s third birthday.
Providers should review the updated Alabama Medicaid EPSDT schedule for complete requirements and billing information.
