Reminder – March 31 is the 2021 MIPS Deadline

Attention MIPS Eligible Providers: Tomorrow, March 31st at 8:00 PM ET, is the deadline to submit: 2021 MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) applications citing COVID-19 as the triggering event. Because of the automatic EUC policy, you don’t need to submit an application for individual clinicians. New Medicaid IDs effective August 1st

New Medicaid ID cards, with a new Medicaid number that starts with 530, will be effective on August 1, 2021. According to Alabama Medicaid, patients should present both Medicaid cards to providers. CMS Automatic Extreme & Uncontrollable Circumstances Exception for 2020 MIPS

As an additional COVID-19 flexibility, CMS is applying the MIPS automatic extreme and uncontrollable circumstances (EUC) policy to all MIPS eligible clinicians for the 2020 performance period.  CMS has also reopened the application for the 2020 MIPS Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Exception for COVID-19. AL Medicaid PI Program Year 2020 Applications

Alabama’s State Level Registry (SLR) will begin accepting Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program Year 2020 applications on December 1, 2020. All Applications must be submitted by February 28, 2021. Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) testing period extended through 2021

CMS announced on Aug. 10, 2020 that the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) educational and operations testing period will be extended through 2021. As a result, there are no payment consequences associated with the AUC program and instead CMS encourages providers to use 2021 to learn, test, and prepare.
