Comments Period Closed for Stage 2 Proposed Rule

  On Monday, May 7th the comment period closes for the ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT) proposed rule for Stage 2 Meaningful Use and updated certification criteria. MediSYS clients experience an almost seamless transition to Version 5010

Date: March 19th, 2012 The 5010 transition has come and gone for MediSYS clients without the mass 5010 issues reported by others.  With the exception of Tricare (who had a delay in rolling-out 5010), MediSYS providers were able transition to 5010 by January 1, 2012.  Although some practices experienced delays due to credentialing issues (i.e. group NPI not registered, etc.) and a few missed Medicare re-validation deadlines, the overwhelming majority of MediSYS clients did not…

Better documentation with MediSYS EHR equals $40,000+ more for Alabama Pediatrician

After installing MediSYS EHR, better documentation for an Alabama Pediatrician meant $40,000 more in payments for Established Patient Visits.  This information was based on actual average PAYMENTS for 99213, 99214, 99215 CPT codes comparing Aug-Dec 2010 to Aug-Dec 2011.  The number of establish patient visits over this period were flat. Results may vary. Also, this pediatrician collected Medicaid EHR incentives of $21,250.  Contact MediSYS for more information.

CMS Held Meaningful Use: Stage 2 National Provider Call

March 12, 2012….CMS held a national provider call today to present the proposed Stage 2 electronic health records meaningful use rule.
