CMS & QPP Updates Providers Should Know

2025 QPP Data Submission is Now Open

  • CMS is now accepting QPP data for the 2025 performance year.
  • Data can be submitted or updated through March 31, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
  • Clinicians may submit their own data or review third-party submissions on their behalf.
  • Data cannot be corrected after the submission deadline, making early review critical.

QPP Service Center Hold Times

  • Clinicians must have an active HARP account and an assigned QPP role to submit data.
  • CMS encourages users to log into the QPP portal now to confirm access.
  • Submission tools, eligibility resources, and user guides are available in the QPP Resource Library.

2026 MIPS Payment Adjustments in Effect Based on 2024 Performance

  • Clinicians unsure of their 2025 MIPS eligibility can verify status using the QPP Participation Status Tool.
  • Opt-in eligible clinicians and groups must make an election before submitting data.
  • No action is required for opt-in eligible clinicians who choose not to participate.

Updates to 2026 PY Eligible Clinicians Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) based on Medicare PFS Final Rule

  • Final MIPS scores for the 2025 performance year are expected in Summer 2026.
  • CMS anticipates longer QPP Service Center wait times during the submission period and recommends submitting data early.
  • Support options include scheduled calls, support tickets, and live chat (use one support method per issue).
  • 2026 payment adjustments, based on 2024 MIPS performance, are being applied to Medicare Part B payments.
  • Adjustments apply to eligible clinicians based on TIN/NPI combinations and participation status.

  • CMS finalized QPP updates in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule.
  • New eCQMs available for the 2026 performance period include:
    • Quality ID #514: Diagnostic Delay of Venous Thromboembolism in Primary Care
    • Quality ID #515: Screening for Abnormal Glucose Metabolism in At-Risk Patients
  • Updated Technical Release Notes have been published to clarify technical changes and correct prior inaccuracies.
