Now Available: 2026 MIPS Payment Adjustment Information

CMS has released Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) payment adjustment details for the 2024 performance period and 2026 payment year. Your 2024 MIPS final score determines whether you’ll receive a positive, negative, or neutral adjustment to Medicare payments for covered professional services in 2026.

Accessing Your MIPS Feedback

Participants can now log in to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website to view their 2024 MIPS final score and related payment adjustment. Practice and ACO representatives can access feedback at the group or entity level depending on their QPP role. If you don’t yet have a QPP or HARP account, CMS encourages you to begin that process soon to ensure access.

Targeted Review Period Now Open

If you believe there may be an error in your MIPS score or adjustment, the targeted review period is open through November 14, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.
You may consider requesting a review if:

  • Data were submitted under the wrong TIN or NPI
  • You qualify as a QP (Qualifying APM Participant) and shouldn’t receive a MIPS adjustment
  • Performance categories weren’t reweighted despite qualifying for extreme and uncontrollable circumstances

Targeted review requests and supporting documentation can be submitted directly through the QPP portal.

CMS has also published updated resources to guide providers through this process, including:

What This Means for You:
Review your 2024 MIPS performance feedback as soon as possible and verify your 2026 payment adjustment. If you suspect any discrepancies, take advantage of the targeted review period before the November 14 deadline.
