2017 MIPS Reporting Period
The MIPS reporting period began on January 1, 2017 and will end on December 31, 2017. The attestation deadline is March 31, 2018.
For 2017, you get to ‘Pick Your Pace.’ This means the length of your reporting period will vary depending on which ‘pace’ you choose. In our previous email we detailed how you can ‘TEST’ this year and report at least one measure or activity to avoid the penalty. If you choose to report for more and potentially earn an incentive here are your options:
Partial: Submit 90 consecutive days of data to Medicare from 2017 (last day to start would be October 2nd, 2017)
Full Year: Submit a full year of data to Medicare from 2017
Remember, your MIPS payment adjustment is based on the data that you submit. Therefore, the more data you submit, the higher your chances are of getting the maximum MIPS POSITIVE payment adjustment. If you choose the full year participation, you have more measures to pick from as well as the potential to receive bonus points.
