The new Alabama State Level Registry (SLR) system is now open to process Medicaid Meaningful Use attestations for Program Year 2015 and will remain open until October 31st, 2016 at midnight CST.
Alabama Medicaid will be processing both Adopt-Implement-Update (AIU) and Meaningful Use (MU) attestations for participation year 2015.
The link to access the new Alabama SLR is: https://alslr.thinkhts.com/.
For providers who see Medicaid AND Medicare patients, who could be subject to a Medicare payment adjustment in 2017, you MUST have your 2015 program year attestations submitted by September 30, 2016!
Keep an eye out next week for more information from Alabama Medicaid regarding webinars to demonstrate the new SLR system and the attestation process.
REMINDER: If you are planning to attest to Medicaid Meaningful Use for 2016, there will be a new process for logging into the provider’s account. Once the State Level Registry (SLR) becomes available, instead of using a username and password you will now be required to enter the provider’s individual NPI and the a CMS Registration ID.
The CMS registration ID can be obtained by calling the CMS Help Desk or via the web. Alabama Medicaid has provided detailed instructions on how to obtain this new ID. We have uploaded the instruction to our Intranet and you can view them by logging in here: http://intranet.medisysinc.com/ and looking under Meaningful Use Resources then Obtaining CMS Registration ID.
2016 is the LAST YEAR TO BEGIN for Medicaid Incentives!
NOTE: There is no Medicaid penalty, however if you see Medicare patients you will be subject to a Medicare penalty unless you attest to Meaningful Use!
If you have at least a 30% Medicaid patient volume (20% for Pediatricians) you may qualify to receive a Medicaid incentive amount!
Total possible incentive is up to $63,750 over 6 years. The first year you may earn up to $21,250 if you Adopt/Implement/Upgrade or attest to Meaningful Use.
