Effective February 1, 2022, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama is implementing the Telehealth and Remote Access Telemedicine policy. Telehealth and telemedicine are not used synonymously in this policy and have unique requirements and conditions. The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has extended the Public Health Emergency PHE extended another 90 days due to the COVID -19 pandemic.
