2019 MIPS Promoting Interoperability Hardship Exception Applications are Now Available CMS is now accepting hardship exception applications for the Promoting Interoperability (PI) category for the 2019 MIPS performance period. CMS has introduced a new voluntary payment model called Primary Care First, which is focused on improving primary care by testing the new payment model in select ‘regions’ throughout the country. Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Updates

A news release posted today, Thursday, June 06, 2019 by Alabama Medicaid, announced updates to the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, or PDMP. In this update, Eligible Providers, EP’s, who participate in the Promoting Interoperability program, can now access the PDMP registry in order to run reports showing that the EP is actively engaged in the Specialized Registry during the reporting period.
