Medicaid EHR Incentive Program and MIPS – it’s possible you may have to participate in BOTH to continue receiving any remaining Medicaid incentives and to avoid the MIPS penalty!
MIPS does not replace the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. If a provider plans to participate in their state Medicaid EHR Incentive Program AND they are also a Medicare Part B clinician who is eligible for MIPS, they will also need to participate in the MIPS program to avoid a negative MIPS payment adjustment.

- No payment adjustments, only incentives
- Incentive payments are a fixed amount each year of participation for up to 6 years (nonconsecutively, unless you began the program in 2016)
- 2016 was the last year to BEGIN participation in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program
